Sometimes you just need a break in the middle of a busy day. Even when a nap isn’t a possibility, you can still get some rest. Meditation is a way to relax, reduce stress, and rest your body and your mind. Meditation quiets the mind, pushes the endless stream of stressful thoughts out, and invites peace in. Taking as little as five minutes to turn inward and meditate will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, giving you the extra boost you need to get through your day.

    A quiet, comfortable place to sit

    Keeping good posture during your meditation will help power up your body.

    Find and sit in a comfortable, quiet location. Sit with your back straight, your legs crossed and your hands resting on your knees with the palms facing up. Then close your eyes.

    Inhale deeply through your nose, allowing the air to fill your lower abdomen. Your chest should not rise significantly, but your belly should expand as it fills with air.

    Exhale through your mouth, letting all of your worries and other negative energies leave you with the breath.

    4

    Pause for a moment, feeling the positive energy that has just entered your mind and body, then repeat.
